04 METHODS FOR SEARCHING RESIDENTIAL INFORMATION OF A CITIZEN AFTER THE REMOVAL OF HOUSEHOLD REGISTRATION BOOKS

On December 21, 2022, the Government issued Decree 104/2022/ND-CP amending the Decree related to the submission, presentation of household registration books and temporary residence books when fulfilling administrative processes and providing public services.

Accordingly, there are 04 methods to search for residential information of citizens without the use of household registration books, including:

– Searching citizen’s information through the information system for handling administrative processes at ministerial and provincial levels, which is connected to the National Population Database or through the National Public Service Portal;

– Searching citizen’s information through the citizen’s electronic identity account displayed in the VNeID application;

– Using a reader device that has been connected to the National Population Database, including a QR Code reader or a chip reader for chip-equipped citizen ID card;

– Other search methods as prescribed by specific laws.
